Draco & Ismir Deliver 3 Wins Out of 4 Matches on Day 2

Kuala Lumpur City eSports suffered our first loss in the FIFA eMFL 2022 league when Draco fell 1-5 to Johor DT’s Akmaljhd in the opening match of the late kick-off on Match Day 2 on Wednesday. The 24 year old had no answer to the southerner pro-gamer, who is also a member of Football Association of Malaysia’s eRimau team. However, we did not have to wait long to redeem our wounded pride, as Ismir immediately brought the eCity Boys’ level, narrowly edging another national gamer, Luqmanhzq, with a hard fought 2-1 win. It was honours even in that tough duel against the Johorean powered GBX eSports team, and definitely a huge boost to Ismir’s confidence.

In the start of night’s action, our dynamic duo easily outclassed Kelantan United, with both Draco and Ismir carrying on their destructive mode from the season opening night on Tuesday, when they secured maximum points. Draco won 4-2 over Taz, while Ismir thrashed Warrior 8-2.

Here’s what they had to say at close :

Draco : “I just feel that I could have done better. Be more clinical in the early part of the game, because to face a very good player like Akmaljhd, you need to convert every chance that you get. But yesterday I didnt take any of it.”

Amtuah, eCity Boys head coach : “Going into Day 1, our target was exactly what we aimed for. For Day 2, against Johor DT, we knew it was going to be a more difficult match than the others and we were expecting more of a fight towards the last round, so it’s a positive outcome for the team. Ismir’s on a good momentum and hopefully he keeps it up for KL City eSports and for his teammate”.

“Draco still performed well. He didn’t get the results we wanted, but I’m satisfied with his performance. Akmaljhd came with a gameplay that we weren’t expecting, which caught Draco off guard.”

After 8 matches from Match Day 1 & 2, the Red & White sit pretty near the top of the standings, occupying the second spot, with 7 wins and loss, only separated through goal difference from leaders Johor DT. Ismir remains undefeated in his four fixtures thus far, but Draco win/loss record is at 3-1.

Commenting on our chances for the next matches, Draco stated,

Draco : “Our goal is always to be the champion of the league. We are still on top of the table sharing points with Johor DT, that is a good thing. The only difference is the goal difference. There are many games to go. I just need to reset and focus for the next game.”

May our eCity Boys exponents Faid “Draco” Said and Iskandar “Ismir” Mirza, remain victorious on Match Day 3!
