City Boys’ head coach Bojan, warned his charges not to take S Pahang lightly despite their lowly position in the Super League standings and reckons that it will be another difficult encounter for the Red & White.
The Elephants are currently in 10th position on 4 points after registering only a win (vs Penang) and a draw (vs Petaling Jaya C) in their 5 matches played, with losses at home to Melaka Utd, as well as on the road to Kedah DA and recently to Selangor.
Speaking to The Voice of The City Boys, of the east coast team’s attributes, Bojan said,
“They (Pahang) lost the previous match (against Selangor) but they played well. They conceded through set pieces. We need to be focused. Their results (so far) are not so good but their game(play) is much better. It will be a tough game but we need to be ready for that.”
He also pointed out that S Pahang have plenty of talent in their ranks and have a good roster of foreign imports.
“They have a lot of young players and good foreigners. They have Nor Azam (Azih), who is their best local player. Hidalgo is technically good although short (in height). They have weaknesses which I cannot share at the moment but we will exploit them in the way we can.”
The unexpected declaration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Monday instead of Tuesday, disturbed what Bojan had planned for heading into this must win match, but he said he is banking on the boys to deliver their part of the bargain in exchange for a short time off with their respective families during this celebrations
“It will affect a little bit but we had an agreement that the players have to give their all as they wanted an extra day for Hari Raya (Aidilfitri). They have to perform.”
The Super League Match Day 7 fixture between Kuala Lumpur City and S Pahang is on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 8.15PM (2015hrs), in Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras.
