Malaysia Football League (MFL) on Thursday evening announced another change of schedule for the FA Cup Second Round fixtures, and the City Boys’ away clash at Selangor is among the remaining two matches in this knock-out stage affected.
The 85th Klang Valley derby was initially set to take place in nearby Kelana Jaya over May 13 or 14, 2022, and then it was postponed to July 2, 2022. However, with the change of KL City’s last match in the AFC Cup 2022 Group H fixtures against Singapore’s Tampines Rovers to June 30, 2022, the MFL has rearranged this match to Friday, July 9, 2022 at 2100hrs (9pm) at the same venue.
In lieu of that, the quarter-finals have been moved as well to July 23, 2022. Six teams have already booked their place in the last eight, Sabah, Melaka Utd., Johor DT, Penang, S Pahang and Kuching City as the only survivor from the Premier League division.
